  Room wasn’t completely cleaned (bags left in the drawers, coffee left in the coffee machine) they claim you get free breakfast, but it’s at a diner attached and you’re only allowed one selection from the menu, they don’t have English menus so if you can’t read French be prepared to have the waiter become rude and impatient. Upon leaving the resteraunt, the rude waiter informed us that the breakfast was free but the tip was not, then handed us the bill and left us with no choice but to leave him a tip in order to leave the resteraunt (and obviously with how rude and impatient he was, we weren’t originally going to tip him)

  Spent the second night of our yearly bike trip here and thoroughly enjoyed the large comfortable room with beautiful view of the lake. Service was excellent, and this is a well run establishment. Would recommend to fellow cyclists not to dine at adjoining restaurant, though. If you do, be forewarned that the owner will aggressively pursue tips if you leave less than 15% on total bill (dinner and breakfast were included in our package). Ruined the experience for us - we couldn't witness a repeat performance so did not return for breakfast - but La Porte Rouge is not to be held responsible as they are separate businesses. The contrast in their service was heightened and greatly appreciated after our unbelievable encounter next door. Mon Dieu!

  Really cozy place and amazing location. Aure recommend. Just won't give 5 stars because it does not accept dogs, unfortunately.
